Important Reminder: Student Check-Out & Emergency Contacts

To help ensure student safety, please review the following information regarding legal guardians, emergency contacts, and student check-out procedures.

Parent/Legal Guardians
- Only a parent or legal guardian may be listed as a guardian in Skyward.
- Only a parent or legal guardian may call the school to authorize a student to leave school.
- Please make sure your contact and guardian information in Skyward is accurate and up to date.

Emergency Contacts
- Parents/legal guardians may list trusted adults as emergency contacts.
- Emergency contacts are individuals the school may contact in an emergency when a parent or legal guardian cannot be reached.
- Being listed as an emergency contact does NOT authorize that person to call a student out of school.

Need Someone Else to Pick Up Your Student?

If someone other than a parent/legal guardian will be picking up or checking a student out of school, a parent or legal guardian must contact the school directly that day to authorize the release.

Please remember: Being listed as an emergency contact does not give an individual permission to check a student out of school.

Afternoon Dismissal
-Car riders will be picked up behind the school. Please line up on the road located behind the building (enter on West Kump Avenue)
and students will exit the rear doors and meet their rides there.
-Traffic will move in one direction behind the building during pickup hours, and exit onto South 138th Street.
-The front road of the school will be reserved for buses only from 2:30 to 3:10 PM. No cars will be permitted to enter that area during this
time.
-To ensure smooth dismissal, students leaving on foot or to the bus area will use the East exits between 2:30 and 3:10 PM.
-Signs will be posted showing “One Way,” “Do Not Enter,” “No Left Turn,” and “No Right Turn” where applicable

REMINDER: If your 7th–12th grade student plans to participate in sports, please submit their completed sports physical by 3:00 PM on August 14, 2026. Physicals submitted after this deadline may not be processed in time for the student to be cleared for practice on August 17, 2026.

Please use this physical packet to ensure you are completing the updated forms, which include all required USD 204 district paperwork.
