The Bonner Springs High School concert band is heading to Branson to be the opening band for the Grand Shanghai Circus! Thursday morning they held their final rehearsal in the BSHS auditorium.
They have been fundraising over the last year to make this trip and will get a clinic with a great music educator to improve their band skills. And, of course, they will get to experience Silver Dollar City, see a few shows, enjoy some good cuisine, and spend some time enjoying Branson's entertainment over spring break!

Congratulations to Superintendent Rick Moulin as he was awarded the NAACP Louisa Fletcher Excellence in Education Award for 2026!
Mr. Moulin was recognized for the following:
"Rick has grown up in this community since third grade, graduating from BSHS in 1990. He has contributed to our education system as a student, teacher, principal and superintendent, and continues to use his expertise to support its development. He has been an advocate for diversity in our schools and our community. As a BS NAACP member, he has shown his support each year for the Freedom Fund banquet, by grilling at Tiblow Days, and at the State NAACP meetings hosted by Bonner Springs, he has given the greeting addressing the support of NAACP's principles and goals. Rick is an excellent role model."
Mrs. Fletcher was an advocate for the rights of African Americans not only in this community, but at the state and national levels as well. Since 2017, BS NAACP has given a Louisa Fletcher "Excellence in Education" award.

Congratulations to our Braves boys basketball team on their win tonight! Next, they will travel to Wichita State University to play at Koch Arena this Thursday night, March 12, at 8 p.m. for the semifinal round of the KSHSAA 5A State Tournament!
Because the team is advancing and we anticipate many families traveling to Wichita to support the team Thursday evening, the BSHS and CMS Family Engagement Nights will be postponed. Originally scheduled for this Thursday, they will now be moved to Thursday, March 26th from 3:30 - 7:30 p.m. (The BSHS band pre-festival solo and ensemble recital already scheduled for March 26th will continue as scheduled at 7 p.m.)
Elementary school conferences will still take place on Thursday, March 12. If an elementary teacher would like to attend the state basketball tournament they will be allowed to do so. If elementary students are impacted because a staff member is not available Thursday evening, individual teachers will reach out to reschedule parent teacher conferences. Along that same line, if your family is planning to cheer on the Braves in Wichita Thursday night, please just contact your child’s teacher to reschedule your conference appointment.
Thank you for your understanding, and please join us in cheering on our Braves as they continue their season!

Today, we were proud to honor John Mackey, Library Media Specialist at Delaware Ridge Elementary, as the March Bonner Springs/Edwardsville Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Month!

John’s leadership extends beyond the library. He is an active Building Leadership Team Member, sponsor of the Braves News Network student news team, and advisor to the Student Ambassadors, a leadership group of fifth graders who model positive citizenship and service.
He seamlessly blends technology, storytelling, and leadership development, empowering students to find their voices and contribute meaningfully to their school community.

Dear Seniors and Families,
We know this time of year is busy, but we truly need your help. Project Grad doesn’t happen without the support of senior families, and right now we still have Super Bowl squares available that directly fund this safe, memorable celebration for your class. It’s $20 per square, with half going to event costs and half to game payouts, and every single purchase makes a real difference. If you’ve been meaning to contribute but haven’t yet, please consider doing so now — our seniors deserve a great night, and we can only make that happen together.
Super Bowl squares are simple and fun: once all squares are sold, numbers 0–9 are randomly assigned to each team, and winners are determined by the last digit of each team’s score at the end of each quarter and the end of regulation. For example, if you have 6 and 7 for the two teams and the score is 16 to 27, you win. We plan to draw numbers on Saturday evening once all squares are sold, so it’s important to get your square purchased as soon as possible.
To buy a square, you can pay via Venmo (@HCampbell03), CashApp ($shcampbell03) or send $20 to BSHS with your Senior. An updated board with names will be available for viewing and purchasing squares at Friday night's home basketball games. If you have any questions, contact Heather Campbell (campbellh@usd204.net).

Thank you for supporting Project Grad,

Girls Swim parent info meeting will be held on 2/18/26 at 6:30 PM in the BSHS Cafeteria.

If your daughter is interested in girls soccer, there will be a parent meeting/team-bonding event today at 6 PM.
On behalf of BSHS Project Grad:
It may feel a little different this year not cheering on our Chiefs, but there is still a lot to celebrate. The Class of 2026 is a group of young adults worth cheering for as they finish their time as USD 204 students.
One way to support them is by participating in the Project Grad Committee’s Super Bowl Squares Fundraiser Raffle, which helps fund a safe and fun, alcohol- and drug-free celebration after graduation.
Squares are $20 each. Half of the proceeds will be paid out as prizes, and the other half will go directly toward supporting Project Grad.
To participate, please Venmo or Cash App Heather Campbell, label your payment “Super Bowl Squares,” and include the number(s) you would like to purchase.
