🩺 An inspiring day for our future healthcare professionals! 25 of our high school students recently visited Vibrant Health and Providence Medical Center, gaining hands-on insight into medical careers and connecting with industry experts. A big congratulations to sophomore Mo'Nae Washington for receiving a $500 scholarship to KCKCC during the event! 🎉👏

On Saturday, our boys Basketball team became Sub-State Champions and advanced to the 5A State Tournament by defeating St. James Academy 67-47! Congratulations to the boys basketball team, Coach Gruver and his coaching staff!

On Saturday at State Wrestling, Junior Addison Vogel joined elite company in BSHS history by bringing home a State Champion medal! She is the second Girls Wrestling state champion in school history. Way to go Addison!!

BUFF PUFF VOLLEYBALL ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!!!!
Due to the potential for inclement weather, we have decided to reschedule Buff Puff originally planned for February 12th. The event will now take place on February 17th, same place and same time (PEC at 6:00p).

We will be on a two-hour delayed start today, February 5th, due to morning road conditions.
On the adjusted schedule, elementary schools will start at 10:30 AM, while secondary schools (CMS & BSHS) will begin at 9:45 AM.
At McDaniel Preschool Center, there will be no AM half-day classes, with full-day classes starting at 10:15 AM, and PM half-day classes following their normal schedule.
Head Start will also begin at 10:15 AM.
Buses will run two hours late, and breakfast will not be served.
Y Care will not operate during morning programs, but will run in the afternoon.

January is School Board Recognition Month, a great opportunity to say thank you to the USD 204 Board of Education who are committed to the success of every student in our community. Our board of education includes Jennifer McConico (President), Angie Thomas (Vice President), Kim Beets, Dave Pierce, Ashley Razak, Chris Russell, and Jeff Tinberg. These seven community leaders volunteer hundreds of hours attending meetings, reading reports and discussing plans and programs to support educational achievement. Thank you BOE!
